was founded in Fall 2021 by Amy Kelley, M.A., a seasoned educator and leader with over two decades of experience in higher education, youth development, and training design. Born from the lessons and challenges revealed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, SIY was created to meet the evolving needs of educational institutions, educators, and students in a rapidly changing world.
With a strong foundation in STEM education and a passion for equitable learning environments, Amy launched the organization to bridge critical gaps in professional development and instructional innovation. SIY offers a dynamic range of services, from immersive STEM programming for early learners to targeted training and support for adjunct faculty across the nation. The organization is grounded in the belief that when educators are empowered and equipped, students thrive.
At SIY, we partner with schools, districts, and educational organizations to deliver impactful, research-informed solutions that support both teaching and learning. Whether through mobile STEM experiences or faculty development initiatives, our mission is clear: to elevate education through expertise, creativity, and a deep commitment to excellence.
OUR FOUNDER
Amy Kelley, M.A., is a visionary leader and the founder of SIY Educational Consulting, where she brings over two decades of experience in higher education, faculty development, and youth programming. As a former Director of Faculty Development, Amy specialized in designing innovative training programs and institutional strategies that equipped adjunct and full-time faculty with tools to improve instructional quality, boost student engagement, and foster inclusive learning environments. Her work has consistently empowered educators to thrive professionally while directly impacting student outcomes in meaningful ways.
Before founding SIY, Amy served as a math professor in higher education and the Founder and Executive Director of Take Your Place, Inc., a nonprofit organization launched in 2016 to introduce underrepresented girls in Chicago to STEM through accessible, hands-on workshops. For several years, this program impacted over 150 girls, expanding to multiple locations and solidifying Amy’s expertise and commitment to early STEM education. This work laid the foundation for STEM Trippin, a mobile, immersive learning experience she developed to bring robotics and STEM learning directly to daycares and early learning centers, making science and technology fun, accessible, and inspiring for young minds.
Driven by innovation and fueled by purpose, Amy founded SIY Educational Consulting in 2021 to meet the evolving needs of educators and learners in a post-pandemic world. Her unique blend of higher education expertise and community-based STEM outreach allows her to serve a wide spectrum of clients—from school districts to early childhood centers—with bold, effective, and future-forward programming. Amy is passionate about reimagining education through collaboration, creativity, and the unwavering belief that when educators are supported, students succeed.
